This month, August, the 8th month, the month of new beginnings, I want to introduce to you WISDOM.

 

According to the English dictionary, wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.

 

PROVERBS 4:5-9 encourages us to get wisdom, and the benefits of wisdom are laid before us: -

 

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; or Wisdom is Supreme; Therefore get Wisdom, And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honour, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

 

Why do we need the Spirit of WISDOM IN THIS YEAR OF Spiritual Emphasis? Here are a few of the reasons:

1. A Wise Person Fears God

2. A Wise Person obtains favour with God and Man

3. A Wise Person enjoys Long Life

4. A Wise Person Builds Their Home and Community

 

Even our Lord Christ Jesus, the Messiah Himself, needed WISDOM in His ministry to ensure success. (Luke 2:52 - “And Jesus grew in Wisdom and Stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:52 NIV)

 

To make a difference in our Church, Home, Work and Community, we must have God’s Wisdom embedded in our lives. Wisdom must be woven through a fabric of our being so that we can execute God’s will, be good custodians of His blessing and display His love and splendour in our spheres of influence.

 

As we go through this month, let us all make it our utmost priority to get in and remain in the presence of God. As we remain in His Presence, God will endow us with supreme wisdom, discernment and favour needed for effective and prosperous living.

 

May this month be spectacular daily for you, your ministry, your family, and the work of your hand as you walk in the Spirit of Wisdom.
